Heckle Neck Esophageal Contact Microphone
It's the Heckle Neck, an esophageal contact mic designed for all ye groaners, gurglers, yodelers, throat singers, and belch practitioners. The HN employs similar ingredients as our Classic Noir, such as our go to 35mm piezo element, standard issue instrument cable, silicone reinforcement, and quarter inch plug. We soldered a clip directly to the microphone component and then added ample heat shrink to prevent any accidental jabbing. We find that the Heckle Neck not only sits quite securely on the throat, it actually feels kinda comfy. All one has to do is cinch it under a strap, collar, or use it as an excuse to dig out that favorite necktie.
Other stuff you should know.
The Heckle Neck is terminated to approximately 4.5 feet of cable. Longer lengths are available in the variants section. We should point out that the HN does not ship with a collar - we figure that's your fashion choice, not ours. Regardless of attire, the Heckle Neck is a frisky mic that sounds fantastic with or without additional processing. That said, we can imagine it pairing well with all manner of amplification, pedal setups, and yup, even modular gloop.
