Spring Bouquet / Shaker Splatter Occurrence
The Spring Bouquet returns!
Albeit a little off in terms of fresh primeval flower arrangements, the Spring Bouquet is quite capable of some of the finest sproings & boings in our instrument-building career. This updated Bouquet echoes a few of the same features of its predecessor as well as our Depth Charge Gamelan, namely, a momentary kill switch and similar (3” x 2”) housing, and a quarter inch jack. The Spring Bouquet also has additional 3.5mm jack - bonus maneuverability for syncing with Eurorack, Koma, etc.
In order to shake the paint off the walls surrounding the aforementioned floral display, a medley of compression & extension springs are soldered directly to the piezo (which gives them extra audio oomph). The springs can be manually plucked and flicked, or the entire box can be picked up and shaken like a maraca. In addition, we include two metal tines which can be mounted upright and bowed, or laid flat along the box and "boinged". Were if that not enough, the bonus momentary kill switch lets one add abrupt pauses and stops whilst tearing the proverbial house down. If noise making is your thing, the Spring Bouquet is a win. Keep in mind that no two Bouquets are alike, as springs & their positioning will vary per instrument. Every Spring Bouquet is unique!

And lastly, a wee, lil' audio demo. The Spring Bouquet is run clean with a pinch of reverb. An ebow and violin bow are used to generate drones along the tines and springs.
