Mandible Operandi (Toothus & Temblor Knob Oddity)

$35.00 - $40.00

Well well well. What have we here?

The Mandible Operandi is a double-clipped, triple spring electro-acoustic piezo transducer device. Descending from an archaic and formidable rogue's gallery of similar spring-box rarities, the Mandible chimes in with eager clangor, atonal doinks, and all manner of boing. Like its brethren the 6Pinch and Spring Bouquet, one can also affix extraneous itinerants to its mandibles, introducing any number of foreign agents and dubious counterparts to its output.

The Mandible Operandi is housed in a 3.75" x 2.5" Altoids-style aluminum tin, terminated to a quarter inch jack. The piezo is soldered directly to the housing and protected with a glob of silicone, which helps muffle unwanted feedback. For extra giggles, we included a potentiometer for volume control and a bonus I/O 3.5mm jack. The current finish is polished aluminum (although we occasionally switch to black, depending on availability). Knob placement and colors are determined by chance operation procedures.

We would be remiss to point out how much we enjoy using the Mandible Operandi. From debauched noisery and foley accidents to ecstatic sizzle with modular synthesizers, the Mandible Operandi is something of a feral little chameleon, blending in and rattling off unexpected litanies, uncomfortable squelches, and sounds resembling tectonic activity. In the videos our beloved coffee-addled Test Dept Lad unites the Mandible Operandi with a Behringer Neutron, poking the I/O jack with an attenuated output patch from the synthesizer. A little shake goes a long way!

Like all our devices, the Mandible Operandi ships within 2 weeks of receiving payment. Thanks for your patience!
